The gown is wearable! And it only took a five hour wives and daughters marathon and three old x-men cartoons. Tomorrow I'll start the petticoat, and hopefully by the weekend I'll be ready to trim.

So I did more then just mope around this weekend. I actually started my gown for the francaise dinner party. I'm using a silk damask I bought at fort Fred last year, I even bleach tested it, it's silk ( mostly). It's been years since I did an en fourreau back, but I think it turned out ok

The stays are done! And like all the underwear I've made before, they are slightly too big. They come nearly edge to edge. I don't have time now to re do them, so for now they will have to do. Time to start the anglaise

I've been a lazy costumer lately. I haven't sewn a thing in two months, and it's not like I have a lack of events to prepare for. I have the tea, which I have a half finished dress I could work on for. I have a ball in Jan that I want a 1890s dress for, and carinwood, which I could use the 1890s or make the teens dress I want. I just bought this dress for work, but I think if I take off the belt and add the right accessories, maybe it could pass for 1920s. What do you think? Am I way off?
